Questions we hear
Where does my equipment actually live?
In our data center in Minneapolis, a built room with racks, cages, cooling, and redundant power backed by generators. You drop it off at any Expansive center and we handle the trip.
Do I have to be an Expansive member?
No. Expansive Colo is open to any business. Members save 15% on monthly prices and pay no setup fees.
How do I reach my servers once they're racked?
Over SecureLink, an encrypted tunnel that puts your equipment on its own private network segment. Your first tunnel is included with any colo, VPS or backup plan. Members get a private VLAN at their center, so you reach your gear from your desk with no extra hardware. You can also connect your own office for $99 a month.
Is 10 Gbps included?
Every plan includes a 1 Gbps port: unmetered fair-share, with 100 Mbps committed. Any plan can upgrade to a 10 Gbps port for $499 a month, or to 1 Gbps committed bandwidth for $199 a month.
Is there a contract?
No. Every plan is month-to-month. If you want a lower rate, a 12-month term saves 10% and a 36-month term saves 20%. Combined discounts never exceed 25%.
What does it cost to move my equipment?
Intake is $149 per server, or $99 per server when you move 5 or more at once, plus freight at cost. That covers inventory, photos, insured shipping, racking and cabling. Full-rack migrations are quoted.
What if something breaks at 2 a.m.?
We respond 24/7. Pro monitoring ($49 per device a month) watches hardware health over SNMP/IPMI and includes reboots. Remote hands for part swaps and cabling is $95 an hour in business hours and $175 an hour after hours.
I don't have a server. Can I still use this?
Yes. Hosted servers start at $29 a month for a VPS, up to dedicated servers from $179 a month. They run on our hardware, on your private SecureLink network.

Yes, always. It's your equipment. We power it down, pack it and ship it insured to any Expansive center or to your door. Returns are $149 per server plus freight at cost. Month-to-month plans have no termination fee.
